Description

Description:
Affiliated Monitoring is seeking a results-driven Trainer to join our Learning & Development team. This role is responsible for delivering impactful, learner-centered programs focused on onboarding and ongoing skill development for Monitoring Center Specialists. You will play a critical role in equipping team members with the technical, procedural, and interpersonal skills needed to respond to life safety and property protection alarms across our nationwide network.
The ideal candidate brings diverse training experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and excels at facilitating meaningful learning experiences across multiple delivery modalities.
Trainers must understand and be able to simulate the urgency, decision-making, and multi-system coordination required in a 24/7 alarm monitoring environment, where agents manage life-safety events in real time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and 3+ years of experience in corporate training, learning facilitation, or adult education.
  • Demonstrated success delivering training in high-volume, high-compliance environments such as customer support centers, emergency response, or operations.
  • Experience designing and delivering instructional content across multiple modalities, including self-paced, virtual, and in-person formats.
  • Familiarity with LMS platforms, e-learning authoring tools (preferred), and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration tools.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and classroom management skills, with the ability to adapt content delivery to varying learner needs.
  • Effective at building cross-functional partnerships and collaborating across departments (Operations, HR, QA, IT) to align learning with business goals.
  • Exceptional time management, organization, and attention to detail in a multi-project environment.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing schedules, priorities, and operational needs
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding and upskilling sessions using blended learning techniques, including instructor-led training (ILT), virtual ILT (vILT), e-learning, gamification, and scenario-based learning.
  • Deliver engaging, outcomes-focused learning experiences for both technical and behavioral competencies (e.g., system navigation, alarm handling protocols, communication skills).
  • Rapidly gain proficiency in monitoring center operations to serve as a subject matter expert (SME) and credible learning facilitator.
  • Apply instructional best practices and adult learning principles to adapt and personalize learning experiences for diverse learner profiles.
  • Support the full learning cycle—from needs analysis and facilitation to evaluation and continuous improvement—in collaboration with key stakeholders across Operations, QA, and HR.
  • Participate in train-the-trainer programs to stay current with internal training models and evolving methodologies.
  • Facilitate On-the-Job Training (OJT), providing just-in-time coaching, reinforcing key concepts, and ensuring application of skills in live environments.
  • Model and reinforce a culture of coaching, accountability, and continuous feedback to ensure learners thrive under pressure and meet performance standards.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and knowledge within scope of training responsibilities, in day-to-day activities of the department.
  • Evaluate learner progress using formal assessments, performance metrics, and observation, providing timely, actionable feedback to support performance development.
  • Leverage multiple technologies and applications in the training environment, including telephony systems, CRMs, LMS platforms, and proprietary alarm-monitoring software. Experience managing learning while navigating multiple systems and interfaces is essential.
  • Partner with team leads and peer mentors to reinforce transfer of learning and provide ongoing performance support throughout the learner journey.
  • Assist with curriculum refinement, program evaluation, and knowledge management to ensure alignment with operational goals and learner needs.
  • Ability to accurately document training class / participant progress.
