Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION/WHAKARĀPOPOTOTANGA

The Trainer Ground Operations is responsible for:

  • The delivery of theory and practical training to new and existing Ground Operations employees at Auckland Airport and is a subject matter expert for their nominated client(s) and operational areas within their port.
  • The primary focus of the role is to deliver engaging and effective training programs that are aligned with approved operating procedures, processes and policies and that meet the quality standards set out by Swissport and our clients.
  • You will be developing front line employees in our airports, enabling our organisation to meet both current and anticipated operational capability requirements and equipping our people with the knowledge and skills they need to deliver safe, efficient and effective operational outcomes for our customers and to provide a safe and reliable passenger experience in the airport precinct.

TASKS & DUTIES/NGĀ MOMO NGOHE

  • Create a safe and trusting learning environment where the required training outcomes can be achieved as effectively and efficiently as possible.
  • Apply appropriate adult learning techniques and facilitation skills that consider the different learning styles and needs of participants to maximise training outcomes.
  • Ensure that training is delivered in a way that is positive and inclusive, always promoting collaboration and participation.
  • Conduct Training Administration Reviews and Trainer & Training Quality Reviews to help identify improvements in the quality and effectiveness of training being delivered.
  • Undertake the accurate and timely completion and maintenance of training records (paper based and electronic) for all training delivered.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the training ‘experience’ for front-line team members and create a culture where learning opportunities are valued and sought after.
  • Facilitate the delivery of high quality and effective Swissport and Client training programs in accordance with the operational endorsements, approvals and qualifications held, including:
  • Classroom (theory) training and assessments.
  • Practical training and ‘Buddy’ Shifts.
  • Competency based assessments.
  • Supervision, guidance and support of employees completing eLearning training modules.
