Description
The Trainer is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for VisionQuest employees across various departments. The primary focus will be on ensuring that employees meet company standards and compliance requirements and are in compliance with state licensing standards and federal guidelines. This role involves pinpointing training requirements and implementing impactful methods such as workshops, conferences, and demonstrations to enrich employee expertise. Moreover, the Trainer assesses employees' proficiency to ascertain their capability in fulfilling their assigned duties effectively. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: ● Training Development and Delivery: ○ Develop training based on program needs and updates to licensing standards and ORR guidelines. ○ Select and develop training presentations that are dynamic and varied to ensure participants learn and retain information. ○ Utilize a variety of training methods and techniques, including workshops, conferences, and demonstrations, to enhance employee skills and knowledge. ○ Conduct training sessions both in-person and virtually, ensuring maximum engagement and effectiveness. ○ Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments and feedback mechanisms. ○ Monitor employee performance to determine if additional training or support is needed. ○ Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continuously improve training programs. ○ Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure training initiatives align with company goals and objectives. ○ Maintain accurate records of training activities and employee progress. ○ Maintain records on training attendance, training offered, and evaluation measures. ● Compliance: ○ Proficient in reading, interpreting, and applying ORR policies and procedures. ○ Ensure training content and delivery methods comply with ORR guidelines, licensing standards, and industry best practices. ○ Collaborate with stakeholders to align training initiatives with compliance requirements. ○ Build a positive culture that supports compliance with an emphasis on trauma-informed care. ○ Lead by example in adhering to compliance standards and promoting a commitment to ongoing professional and organizational development. ● Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors. SKILLS & ABILITIES: ● Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to listen actively. ● Excellent presentation skills. ● Creative ability. ● Commitment to professional development and proactive research. ● Ability to work independently and as part of a team. ● Excellent writing proficiency in policies and procedures. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: ● Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Social Work, Behavioral Health, or a Degree in a related field. ● Experience training and/or teaching is preferred. ● Experience working with ORR is preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: ● Must be 21 years of age or older. ● Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred. ● Flexible schedule (evening, weekends, holidays) to facilitate program services. ● Cleared tuberculosis test results. ● Must be able to pass a drug test. ● Must be able to provide proof of required vaccinations. ● Cleared background checks from appropriate entities, including Child Abuse and Neglect and FBI criminal background. ● Obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification. ● Must have a valid driver’s license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: ● May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds infrequently. ● Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day. ● May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary. ● Must be able to provide First Aid and CPR. ● Must be able to perform physical holds as instructed in Crisis Prevention Intervention training (CPI).
