Description:
OVERVIEW
Reporting to the Human Resources Supervisor, the Training and Development Specialist will be responsible to ensure all areas of the business have appropriate training systems in place to support the business strategy and to ensure the quality of the product. The Incumbent will be also responsible for managing the entire Training program for the facilities. This includes but not limited to creating, developing, implementing, and conducting training and development programs for the employees.
EDUCATION AND PERSONAL COMPETENCIES
- Minimum 3-5 years training experience preferably in an automotive setting.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Training and Development, or a related field required.
- Proven work experience working as Training and Developing Specialist, or similar role.
- Familiarity with social media, and professional networks.
- Hands-on experience with training techniques and evaluation methods.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A keen understanding of the differences between various roles within the manufacturing environment.
- Microsoft Office Professional with advanced Excel skills
- Problem Solving and Analysis
- Good presentation skills
- Strong interpersonal, time management, multitasking and organizational skills
- Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Fluency in English
- Strong team ethic
Responsibilities:
- Assesses training and development needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and communication with managers, and trainers
- Plans, develops, organizes, and implements a comprehensive development and training plan including functional skills and technical knowledge training.
- Creates, organizes, plans, and presents various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training for employees and customers.
- Develops unique training programs to fulfill workers specific needs to maintain or improve job skills.
- Creates and/or acquires training procedure manuals, guides, and course materials.
- Presents training and development programs using various forms and formats including group discussion, lecture, simulations, and videos.
- Maintains records of training and development activities, attendance, results of tests and assessments, and retraining requirements.
- Assesses training materials prepared by trainers.
- Evaluates program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
- Maintains knowledge of the latest trends in training and development.
- Support the preparation and implementation of training budget.
- Continuously evaluates relevancy and accuracy of curriculum content and monitors the process and impact of training on learning and on-the-job performance.
- Delivers stand-up training on generic or technical topics to targeted personnel.
- Audit training delivery to ensure workplace training activities are being delivered in an effective manner
- Develops KPIs for efficiency & effectiveness to measure impact
- Establishes and maintains collaborative professional relationships with departmental personnel, including management, in order to plan training sessions.
- Responsible for client registration for workshops and training sessions; confirms attendance via confirmation letter or e-mail.
- Maintains registration/attendance records of employees in order to prepare reports and studies on training programs and activities; assesses the success and/or failure of such programs.
- select and assign trainers to conduct specific training and development and may provide performance evaluations for training trainers.
- Performs other related duties as required.
