The Hartford office of Robinson & Cole LLP, an AmLaw 200 firm, is seeking a full-time Training and Development Specialist to work in our IT Department.

This position is responsible for internal training programs for the firm’s lawyers and business professionals and works collaboratively with the IT Department, Professional Development Committee, Department Managers and Section & Practice Group leadership to align training initiatives with firm goals. Some of the duties include:

  • Delivering onboarding and general user software training to business professionals and attorneys both in-person and remotely
  • Assisting with the creation of training programs and materials for end users, including handouts, learning videos, evaluations, and other appropriate resources
  • Assisting with coordinating internal presentations by collaborating with trainers, presenters, and subject matter experts on developing content, sending out appropriate materials, and setting up appropriate facilities as necessary
  • Maintaining viLMS, the firm’s internal Learning Management System, including the input and maintenance of course information, monitoring registrations, running needed reports and issuing certificates of completion​

​Qualified candidates will have the following:​

  • A minimum of 2-4 years of training or instructional design experience
  • Strong technological knowledge and proficiency and training experience in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with e-Learning creation, document management system (iManage / Matter Centricity), InterAction or similar CRM system, and Aderant iTimekeep or similar billing and timekeeping software is highly preferred
  • Ability to recognize varying audiences’ needs and abilities and tailor training to different learner styles
  • Ability to travel is required
  • Prior experience in the legal-industry is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree highly preferred
