Description Verland is seeking a Training and Development Specialist who will create, develop, implement, and conduct employee training and development programs. Contributions: Own the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of organizational training and staff development programs. Assess training needs through data, observation, and collaboration with department leaders to ensure relevance and impact. Develop and deliver onboarding, orientation, annual, in-service, and role-specific training for professional and non-professional staff. Ensure all training programs align with applicable government, licensing, and regulatory requirements, including mandated training hours. Design and manage custom training programs and certifications, including job-specific and compliance-driven credentials. Facilitate training using multiple instructional methods (in-person, virtual, blended) to support adult learning best practices. Administer the Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignments, policy distribution, attestations, and reporting. Create, maintain, and standardize training materials, policies, procedures, and documentation. Track and maintain accurate training, certification, and compliance records, ensuring audit readiness. Evaluate training effectiveness using metrics, assessments, and feedback, and recommend improvements to address performance or compliance gaps. Working knowledge of regulatory and compliance-related training requirements and the ability to follow defined standards and curricula. Proficiency in using a Learning Management System (LMS) to assign courses, track completion, and maintain documentation. Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to present material clearly to diverse staff groups. Good organizational skills with the ability to manage training schedules, materials, and records accurately. Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate, compliant training documentation and records. Minimum Training and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Training and Development, Education, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field required. Three-five years of experience designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs, preferably in a regulated or compliance-driven environment. Demonstrated knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design, and facilitation techniques. Experience administering a Learning Management System (LMS), including course assignment, tracking, and reporting. CPR Certification required (or ability to obtain within a defined onboarding period). Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent experience facilitating instructor-led training programs.
