JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Flight Simulation Training & Compliance Manager to oversee and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and Department of State / Export Control Regulations as they pertain to flight simulation training. The candidate must demonstrate a strong background and expertise in aviation training. This role requires excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent technical skills. A background in curriculum development is strongly preferred, as the candidate will be responsible for establishing/supporting training programs that comply with applicable regulations and meet or exceed industry standards / best practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience required
  • Advanced degree in relevant field strongly preferred
  • Compliance:
  • Strong knowledge of FAA, TSA, and Department of State regulations as they relate to flight simulation training
  • Proven experience in a compliance role or similar position within the aviation industry is advantageous
  • Training:
  • Experience in curriculum development for training programs is required
  • Experience in curriculum development for FAA-approved training programs is strongly highly desirable

Aviation Experience:

  • Flight Operations experience with FAA Part 121, 135, 141, or 142 operation/certificate strongly preferred
  • Night Vision Goggle (NVG) experience strongly preferred
  • Helicopter operations experience highly desirable
  • Flight simulator instructor experience highly desirable
  • Communication
  • Excellent public speaking skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly
  • Multilingual abilities, enhancing communication across diverse teams
  • Spanish fluency is strongly preferred
  • French and/or Portuguese are a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being self-motivated
  • Administrative/Technical
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, are required
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS) strongly preferred

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and manage quality and compliance programs and policies that adhere to:
  • U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations, 14 CFR Parts 61, 135, 141, 142, etc. and associated guidance, e.g. FAA Simulator Quality Management System (SQMS)
  • Foreign Civil Aviation Authorities (as deemed relevant based on customer contracts/business needs)
  • Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Flight Training Security Program (FTSP)
  • Internal/Employee initial and recurrent training requirements
  • External/Customer requirements
  • U.S. Department of State/Department of Commerce Export Control/ITAR regulations including, but not limited to:
  • Night Vision Goggle equipment and training programs
  • Customer Visa requirements
  • Helisim Group Quality & Compliance requirements
  • Manage Flight Simulator Instructor Operating Station (IOS) Training
  • Collaborate with Helisim Group Training team to develop/improve IOS curricula and training means
  • Deliver IOS training to Helisim customers
  • Serve as customer focal point/liaison between customers and Helisim technical team for flight operations/technical topics related to use of simulators
  • Manage technical publications and training resources to support optimal flight simulator training experience
  • Prepare updates and provide continuing education to Helisim customers to support continuous improvement and a best-in-class training experience at our training center
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory agencies, to address compliance issues.
  • Prepare reports detailing compliance status and areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and educational sessions for employees on compliance-related topics.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards that may impact the organization.
  • Advise management of compliance risks and opportunities, as well as risks and opportunities for the business.
