SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate Training Coordinator to join our team in West Rest Haven. This role is crucial in developing and implementing training programs that enhance the skills of our staff, ensuring they provide the highest quality of care to our residents.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Professionally or vocationally licensed person in health care, as well as CPR certified.
  • Proven experience in training & development, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of geriatric and rehabilitative nursing, and the ability to apply those skills and techniques.
  • Awareness of new development in nursing, dietary, housekeeping, ETC.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak the English language.
  • Membership and participation in professional organization preferred.

Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, develop, and implement training programs tailored to the needs of staff.
  • Conduct training sessions using various instructional techniques.
  • Collaborate with department heads to identify training needs.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain training records and documentation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in adult education.
  • Facilitate workshops and seminars for continuous staff development.
  • Support new employee onboarding through structured training.
  • Work as a charge nurse when needed.
  • Work on call rotation.

PHYSICAL / MENTAL / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Must be able to stand and walk throughout shift on hard floor and carpeting surfaces to supervise staff and work with residents in their rooms.
