This is an exciting opportunity to recruit, train and develop our volunteers and paid staff and to develop and deliver our new “Advice First Aid” training programme.
The Training and Development Officer will lead on:
- The organisation’s Training and Development plan
- The recruitment and training of volunteers and paid staff
- The design and delivery of “Advice First Aid” training to external organisations to support capacity building in the community
The successful candidate will:
- Be organised, passionate and resilient
- Work collaboratively with the Senior Leadership Team
- Have great communication skills and build good external relationships
- Be able to inspire, mentor and support others, especially volunteers
What we are looking for
We are looking for a candidate who has:
- The ability to communicate effectively in an educational and developmental setting
- An understanding of managing volunteers, volunteering issues and a commitment to the value of volunteering
- The ability to implement and deliver training modules, combined with an understanding of adult learning techniques
- Excellent IT skills
- The skills to give feedback objectively and sensitively
- An up to date understanding of equity and diversity
- The ability to deal with difficult situations
- A willingness to travel between a range of locations within the Stroud and Cotswold areas on a regular basis
Advice experience within Citizens Advice or an equivalent advice background. A candidate appointed without Citizens Advice experience will be expected to be meeting the training needs of the organisations within 3 months.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Executive Officer
PLACE OF WORK: Stroud, Cirencester offices preferred, but hybrid working will be considered
SALARY: Band 3A on CASCD Salary Scale (Starting Salary £29,100)
HOURS OF WORK: 37 hours per week (flexible or part time working hours considered)
CONTRACT: Permanent
