Job Description At GYG, training isn’t a side activity, it’s how we protect food quality, build capability, and set our restaurants up to win. As part of a major training program, we’re looking for a Training Lead to design and deliver practical, in-restaurant training that works in the real world. This is a 6 month project role that sits within the PMO and works hand-in-hand with Culinary, Coffee, Ops, L&D, Tech and Franchise teams to build a simple, consistent, and scalable training ecosystem across Corporate and Franchise restaurants. What you’ll be doing This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where practicality matters most. You’ll: Design and develop training programs across key pillars including Culinary, Coffee, Systems, Equipment, Leadership and 4-Wall training Translate operational standards into clear, simple and usable training resources Define and embed the 4-Wall training model, ensuring training happens where work happens Set clear expectations, tools and guidance for Crew Trainers, restaurant leaders and Coaches Partner closely with Culinary, Ops Excellence, L&D, PX, Tech and SMEs to ensure training aligns with real restaurant operations Work with the Learning Lead to align with GYG’s broader learning and onboarding strategy Support pilot testing in restaurants and refine content based on feedback Plan and coordinate training rollouts, including sequencing, readiness and dependencies Provide structured updates, risks and issues into PMO governance and reporting What we’re looking for You’re practical, organised, and comfortable working across fast-moving environments: Experience in training design, capability development or operational training Strong understanding of adult learning principles and on-the-job training Proven ability to simplify complex operational processes into usable training materials Confident facilitator with strong stakeholder engagement skills Highly organised with clear documentation and communication skills Bonus points if you’ve worked in: QSR, hospitality, retail or other multi-site environments or led training rollouts or capability frameworks at scale.
