Description
As a Training Manager, you is the key stakeholder to develop and implement strategic training solutions to enhance organizational and individual capability. Oversee the hotel’s training function by building qualified departmental trainers, managing training data systems, and evaluating results to ensure effective learning resources and continuous employee development. Analyze hotel and departmental training needs to develop a comprehensive Training Business Plan for review by the General Manager and Executive Committee. Align programs with IHG HR and Training Standards, adapting locally as needed. Ensure effective delivery of training programs, including: Brand Orientation & Service Training Train the Trainer Customer Service & Technical Skills Supervisory & Management Development Fire & Life Safety, Selling Skills, and Employee Retraining Monitor departmental training plans to ensure objectives are met. Maintain training records and establish a resource library for staff development. Collaborate with Department Heads to design and implement structured, effective training programs, attending sessions to evaluate performance. Use IHG benchmarks (e.g., ESPS, GSTS, budget targets) to assess training success and make improvements. Support Department Trainers and oversee programs for Management Trainees, interns, and hotel school placements. Develop and maintain a network of specialist trainers to support advanced and technical training needs. Ensure Department Heads fulfill their training responsibilities in line with departmental SOPs. Prepare monthly training reports for the Manager and General Manager, detailing: Internal and external training conducted Attendance, duration, trainer, and cost (including labor) Anticipated ROI and training objectives Collaborate with other IHG Training Managers and educational institutions to share best practices and resources. Maintain updated records of training suppliers and materials. Deliver program briefings to management and contribute to regional HR initiatives as directed. Support Line Managers with performance appraisals, probation reviews, and provide coaching, counseling, and feedback to enhance employee performance.
