Dawson Mine is a large and dynamic open cut steelmaking coal mine operation made up of two operating pits - Central and South. It commenced operations in 1961 and is one of the oldest coal mining operations in Central Queensland with no signs of slowing down. Dawson Mine is rich in history, it was the first mine in Australia to export coal to Japan in 1961 and was the first mine to introduce draglines into its operation in 1963 – join the legacy today! Job Description We are currently seeking a highly motivated site-based Training Officer at Dawson Mine, competent in scheduling, managing and assisting training related tasks to ensure compliance to corporate policy and legislative requirements. This is the perfect opportunity for someone to step foot into one of the world’s most longstanding and rapidly growing industries, in a well-established mine at Dawson Mine, Moura QLD. As a Training Officer reporting to the Training Coordinator, your duties include: Support with general enquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Monitor and manage training records, identifying gaps, and collaborating with leaders. Managing the end-to-end process for targeted training programs. Driving continuous improvement and best practice for training delivery. Maintain compliance and ensure personnel have the necessary skills / Training as per the site Training Needs Analysis. Ensuring crew proficiency levels in accordance with site training needs; and Monitor & maintain site training systems, including reporting, site access control and training compliance audits. Qualifications You will have previous experience in: Managing and assisting with site-based training requirements Knowledge of competency-based training in units endorsed under the Resource Infrastructure Industry (RII) Highly desirable but not mandatory, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116) At least 2 years of experience in a similar role Resilient nature, openness for change and demonstrated ability to drive best practice. Your strong communication, prioritisation, and time management skills, as well as your drive to deliver high quality output in a timely manner will be key to your success in the role.
