VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: TRAINING SPECIALIST – ICT Lumwana Mining Company seeks to recruit a highly motivated and committed employee for the position of Training Specialist – ICT to join the versatile Human Resources department. We are in search of an individual who can champion Barrick's DNA by: Communicating Honestly, Transparently, and Acting with Integrity Exhibiting a Results-Driven approach Delivering solutions that are Fit for Purpose Dedicating themselves to Building a Sustainable Legacy Taking Responsibility and being Accountable Committing to Zero Harm Cultivating strong and meaningful Partnerships Reporting to the Coordinator – Apprenticeship and Graduates, you will be responsible for hands-on training program that builds apprentices’ competence in computer hardware, operating systems, networking fundamentals, and workplace applications. You will teach troubleshooting and service-desk practices such as ticketing, documentation, customer support, and escalation procedures to prepare apprentices for real ICT environments. Your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Develop and manage the ICT apprenticeship curriculum aligned to workplace needs and competency standards Deliver hands-on ICT training (hardware, OS, networking, applications) using labs, demonstrations, and guided practice. Assess and verify competence through practical tests/projects and maintain apprentice portfolios and progress records Promote cybersecurity and data protection practices (safe computing, access control basics, backups, responsible data handling). Coordinate workplace learning and continuous improvement by working with ICT teams/mentors, arranging attachments and updating training based on performance gaps and technology changes To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements: Grade 12 Full Certificate Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Networks/Telecoms. Diploma in Teaching Methodology from a recognised learning institution. Valid accreditation with relevant institutions. Minimum 2 years’ work experience in a similar role.
