Join us.   Position Title: Training & Standards Specialist – Maintenance   Location: Irvine, CA   Work Arrangement: 100% On-Site, with up to 25-50% travel required and occasional weekend work based on business needs.   Position Summary The Training & Standards Specialist – Maintenance is responsible for delivering Crew Chief training and creating the technical materials required to support standardized maintenance operations. This role focuses on hands-on development of training plans, maintenance policies, and aircraft specific technical documentation. Rather than managing programs or teams, this position directly produces the materials, procedures, and instructional content that ensure maintenance personnel are trained, qualified, and operating to consistent standards. The Specialist works closely with engineering, maintenance SMEs, and operational teams to ensure all documentation and training align with system updates and mission requirements.   Required Duties and Responsibilities: * Crew Chief Training & Qualification * Conduct Crew Chief training through classroom instruction, practical maintenance exercises, and field/on the job training. * Develop training plans, qualification paths, and proficiency requirements for maintenance personnel. * Assess training effectiveness and incorporate continuous improvements. * Track and maintain training records, certifications, and qualification standards for all personnel. * Maintenance Standards & Technical Documentation * Develop and/or maintain maintenance policies, such as tool control, FOD prevention, safety practices, and configuration control. * Create, revise, and/or standardize aircraft specific maintenance manuals, inspection procedures, servicing instructions, and job aids. * Ensure technical documentation accurately reflects current engineering baselines and system updates. * Coordinate with engineering and SMEs to ensure documentation meets operational and reliability goals. * Conduct periodic audits, standardization reviews, and compliance assessments. * Evaluate field feedback and maintenance trends to drive documentation and standards improvements. * Support integration of new technologies into maintenance policies and documentation standards. * Travel to operational locations to provide standardization support and validate documentation effectiveness. * Provide weekly reports to leadership summarizing training activity, documentation updates, and compliance status. * May be required to deploy to operational locations to supplement crews, deliver on-the-job training (OJT), and assist with mission readiness activities. * Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support operational objectives. Required Skills/Qualifications: * 6+ years of experience in maintenance training, technical documentation, aviation maintenance, or related DoD environments. * Ability to create and manage technical documentation for complex systems. * Strong familiarity with UAS systems and maintenance operations. * Strong knowledge of instructional design and adult learning principles. * Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Preferred Skills/Qualifications: * Experience working cross‑functionally with engineering, operations, and logistics. * Ability to independently identify needs and execute tasks with minimal supervision. * Experience with Learning Management Systems and digital documentation platforms. * Experience developing multimedia or digital content. Education:  * Bachelor’s degree in Education, Training & Development, Aviation, or related field. * Equivalent military or civil aviation maintenance experience may substitute for formal education. Clearance Level Required: Secret - Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance, as required for the role.   Travel Required: 25%-50%   Working Conditions: The diversity of work conditions may range from an environment where there is little or no physical discomfort, such as a general office environment, to warehouse and other facilities. Work performed may be in a harsh climate and often in hazardous situations. While performing the duties of this position, one may regularly be exposed to extreme and austere desert or other environments.   Physical Demands:  The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job: * Must have the ability to stoop, stand, climb, and lift a minimum of 35-50 lbs. * Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine. * Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work. Work Authorization Requirement: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for current or future employment visa sponsorship.   Salary: $120,000-$140,000 annually Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus.
