BUSINESS FUNCTION: People
SALARY: £72,462.85 per annum
ROLE TYPE: Onsite
HOURS: 37 per week
LOCATION: Leeds/Manchester

Proven leadership skills, a passion for developing people, and a track record in delivering high-quality training are must-haves. You’ll bring:

  • A Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience in managing training programmes)
  • Safety-critical competence and at least 3 years’ operational experience.
  • Experience of managing apprenticeships or working in further education.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to influence others.
  • Confidence in using data and feedback to improve training.
  • A collaborative approach – working with others to make training better, faster, and more impactful

Responsibilities
  • Leading, coaching, and developing a high performing training team, ensuring consistently high standards.
  • Managing all aspects of people leadership - recruitment, onboarding, performance, and wellbeing.
  • Designing, delivering, and improving training programmes that meet operational, safety, and regulatory needs.
  • Acting as curriculum lead for apprenticeships, ensuring programmes are modern, inclusive, and effective.
  • Embedding safeguarding practices in every part of our training.
  • Maintaining compliance with OFSTED, ESFA (Education and Skills Funding Agency), and internal standards.
  • Using digital tools and modern learning techniques to keep training engaging and effective.
  • Building strong relationships with operational leaders, safety teams, auditors, and other stakeholders.
