POSITION SUMMARY

The Training and Technical Assistance Specialist works with the Training and Capacity Building Team to strengthen Tennessee’s domestic and sexual violence programs by designing and delivering high-quality, trauma-informed training and technical assistance. This role emphasizes instructional design, curriculum development, and training innovation, ensuring that providers statewide have engaging, accessible, and practical learning resources to enhance their capacity to serve survivors.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree required; degree in graphic design, instructional design, education, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Three (3) or more years of experience working with domestic and sexual violence programs.
• Two (2) or more years of experience designing and facilitating both in-person and virtual trainings for adult learners.
• Priority given to those with experience in digital content design with a focus on training, curriculum development, or instructional materials.
• Strong proficiency with Canva and/or other design and eLearning tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, or similar).
• Demonstrated ability to design compelling written and digital training materials that are accessible, engaging, and trauma informed.
• Strong understanding of nonprofit organizations and familiarity with community-based services.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic and sexual violence and the systems that support survivors.
• Ability to manage a high volume of projects efficiently while meeting deadlines.
• Growth mindset with a coaching and continuous learning mentality.
• Proficiency in instructional design tools, virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams), and proactively learns new design tools, platforms, and technologies to strengthen training content delivery.
• Experience with federal and/or state grant compliance preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and develop engaging, high-quality educational content for domestic and sexual violence professionals, delivered through both virtual and in-person methods.
• Lead the design and production of digital media training materials, including toolkits, curricula, eLearnings, facilitator guides, and other resources to build statewide program capacity.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts and colleagues to ensure training content aligns with educational goals and addresses the needs of diverse audiences.
• Apply instructional design theories and adult learning principles to create effective, evidence-based educational experiences.
• Serve on planning committees for the Coalition’s Annual Conference, the Tommy Burks Victim Assistance Academy, and other statewide training events; collaborate with team members to ensure events are engaging, accessible, and impactful.
• Facilitate high-quality training sessions (virtual and in-person) for domestic and sexual violence professionals.
• Provide individualized technical assistance to domestic and sexual violence programs in Tennessee on a wide range of topics including staffing, resources, best practices, intersection of opioid and DV/SA, DV/SA laws, and federal/state grant regulations.
• Ensure all grant deliverables and reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
• Travel occasionally throughout Tennessee to provide training and technical assistance.

• Serve as a leader in fostering strong communication between TCEDSV and external partners.
• Follow and support the policies and procedures of TCEDSV.

• Attend and participate in staff meetings.
