POSITION SUMMARY

As a vital member of our team, you will help ensure the continued delivery of reliable, accurate, and compassionate services to our patients, referring physicians, and staff.
This position reports directly to the Transcription Manager and is responsible for delivering comprehensive medical transcription support across the organization. You will work within a team that is dedicated to providing high-quality, precise transcription services. The role requires a high level of independence, so you must be a self-starter who is confident in your transcription abilities and able to work effectively with minimal supervision.

  • Strong proficiency in grammar, syntax, editing, and punctuation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and critical thinking.
  • Excellent listening skills, with the ability to maintain concentration and focus over extended periods.
  • Foundational knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and familiarity with related billing codes.
  • Proficiency in standard desktop applications, including Microsoft Word and Windows.
  • Advanced keyboarding skills, with the ability to type 75+ words per minute accurately.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage high volumes of work while meeting tight deadlines.
  • Consistent and reliable work habits, with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Dedicated to maintaining high standards in patient care, quality assurance, and compliance with diagnostic imaging protocols.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of a Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a recognized program in Medical Transcription or equivalent is mandatory.
  • 1 to 2 years of recent experience in medical transcription, with familiarity in diagnostic imaging processes, is preferred.
  • A reliable, hard-wired internet connection is essential for remote work capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver accurate and timely medical transcription services in support of departmental operations.
  • Edit and proofread documents for grammar, clarity, consistency and medical accuracy.
  • Confirm accurate recipient selection for timely and appropriate report distribution.
  • Verify patient information and cross-check data to ensure completeness and accuracy.
  • Review and confirm billing procedures related to transcription documentation.
  • Effectively organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines and accommodate fluctuating work demands.
  • Communicate professionally with radiologists and internal departments as necessary to support workflow and clarify information.
  • Provide peer support and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Participate in team meetings and organizational sessions as required.
  • Share relevant information and updates with colleagues to ensure alignment and continuity.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Maintain clear, respectful, and cooperative communication with all team members and stakeholders.
  • Approach challenging situations with sensitivity, professionalism, and a proactive mindset.
