Description & Details: The Office of Registration and Records is seeking individuals for the position of Transfer Coordinator. The purpose of this position is to evaluate and process transfer credits; communicate with and educate students, staff, and faculty regarding transfer policy and procedures; develop and maintain partnerships with campus stakeholders to promote transfer initiatives; evaluate and process Joint Service Transcripts; and be a contributing member to the Registration and Records Office, North Dakota State University, and the North Dakota University System

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel
  • Experience working with computer systems and new software technologies
  • Ability to use critical thinking to resolve complex problems
  • Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal format
  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality
  • Maintain cooperative relationships
  • Ability to work with diverse populations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Familiarity working as a professional in higher education with academic-related issues
  • Experience working with transfer or military student related issues
  • Demonstrated presentation skills in a professional setting

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate Transfer Coursework: Evaluate official transcripts from both domestic and international higher education institutions, as well as credit from AP, CLEP, DSST, and IB exams, and ACE recommendations for military and national guides. This involves a thorough assessment of course content, academic level, accreditation, and institutional equivalencies to determine credit transferability and applicability.
  • Determine Equivalencies: Research course descriptions, syllabi, catalogs, and other academic resources to establish appropriate course equivalencies with the university’s curriculum. Collaborate with academic departments as needed for complex or specialized course evaluations.
  • Maintain Transfer Articulation Database: Update and maintain the transfer articulation system/database, TES, with new course equivalencies.
  • Process Articulation Agreements: Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of articulation agreements with other institutions, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Communicate with Stakeholders: Respond to inquiries from prospective and current students, academic advisors, admissions counselors, and faculty regarding transfer credit policies, evaluations, and articulation. Provide clear and concise explanations of transfer credit decisions
    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday 8AM-5PM, 7:30AM-4PM during breaks and summer. Hybrid remote work opportunities may be available upon completion of training
    Hiring Range: $43,000-$45,000
