Description Work five days a week with flexible shift start time between 10pm-1am Sunday-Friday or Monday-Saturday depending on candidate preferences Summary: The Transfer Truck Driver plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of being our customers’ competitive advantage by ensuring quality, efficiency and safe delivery of our products and services to our regional branches. The Transfer Truck Driver operates a tractor-trailer for a regional route and works independently to load and unload the trailer at each branch. The Transfer Truck Driver also takes initiative to provide general maintenance and up-keep of their delivery vehicle, performs daily pre-trip and safety inspections on equipment, and adheres to all DOT compliance requirements to ensure a positive relationship between the DOT and our company. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions: Ensure the delivery of products and services Load and unload the trailer in a safe and efficient manner Understand logistical routes throughout the company Work independently but able to communicate effectively with department leads and branches on all job related matters Adhere to all company safety policies and initiatives Maintain a high standard of driving performance Maintain compliance with all Department of Transportation requirements Maintain truck and warehouse dock cleanliness and order Follow processes and procedures in place for effective job performance Participate in company process improvements and initiatives Requirements Critical Success Factors: Customer Focused Ability to analyze work load and establish priorities Ability to stay on task Willingness to give and receive constructive feedback Ability to work well in a team atmosphere Ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal guidance Ability to maintain a positive work attitude and solid work ethic Self motivated with strong problem solving ability Drive for continuous improvement Detail Oriented Dependable Job Requirements/Specifications: High School Diploma or GED required Ability to lift 100 lbs on a consistent basis Ability to operate lift truck equipment Class A CDL is required Maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record Ability to meet and maintain qualifications required by the DOT Ability to work a late shift Minimum 1 to 2 years previous warehouse experience preferred Previous CDL driving experience required (2-3 years preferred) Knowledge of Eclipse and RF scanner preferred Work Environment & Physical Demands: Consistently works alone, non-standard shift work, and extended day Frequently sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, bending at the waist, twisting upper body, reaching, working with hands, working with fingers, talking, hearing, vision acuity-near, vision acuity-far, depth perception, field of vision, color vision, driving, team lifting, cold, heat, temperature changes, and work indoors Sometimes climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, works with others, customer contact, wet, humid, noise, work outdoors, and mechanical hazards Occasionally crawling, vibration, confined area, high places, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and poor ventilation The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an incumbent.
