Safety Policies and Procedures, as well as the safety requirements of our customers where applicable. Immediate reporting of any safety violations or concerns. Ensure all applicable regulatory standards are met with regards to loss prevention, accident investigation, OSHA compliance. Works with team members to actively improve safety of the plant. Ensure safety action items are completed accurately and timely. Quality: Ensure team members are accurately following quality policies and procedures. Ensure manufactured products meets-specification and are of highest quality. Work with Quality Manager, Operations team members, and production team members in the development of SOP’s and Work Instructions, identification of root causes, and implementation of corrective actions/preventive actions. Communicate and coordinate training on new processes and procedures. Productivity: Lead daily operations of the transformer cell across stacking, winding, and assembly Ensure production targets are achieved for output, efficiency, and utilization Balance workflow across operations to eliminate bottlenecks Monitor and manage WIP flow between process steps Coordinate priorities with Supply Chain and Production Planning Actively participate in the operations of the cell (Working Supervisor) Cost: Manage labor efficiency and productivity within the transformer cell Drive reduction in scrap, particularly high-value materials such as copper Ensure accurate transactions and inventory integrity in SAP Control indirect materials and operational waste Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput and quality Lead 6S, Kaizen, and Lean manufacturing initiatives Improve process flow, equipment utilization, and cycle times Support justification and implementation of equipment and process improvements Other Duties As assigned. Requirements Educational and Experience Requirements 3-5 years in manufacturing. 2-3 years in a supervisory role within the production environment. Demonstrated leadership skills Experience in Lean and Continuous Improvement required (6S, Kaizen, Value Stream Map, etc.) Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred MS Office (Excel / Outlook / Word) Lean certifications are a plus. Other Requirements Strong communication skills. Ability to speak in front of large groups of people. Ability and willingness to work as a member of a team; initiative Flexible work hours when required Detail oriented and ability to make sound judgments Confidentiality; professionalism Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills. Success Metrics (KPI) Units per Week / Output Attainment First Pass Yield (Transformer Build) Labor Efficiency (Hours vs Standard) Scrap Cost ($, especially copper losses) On-Time Delivery (OTD) WIP Flow Stability / Bottleneck Occurrence Business Impact Owns performance of the transformer cell (capacity, cost, and quality) Directly impacts revenue through output and delivery performance Controls major cost drivers (labor and copper) Ensures scalable production capability for internal manufacturing Reduces dependency on external suppliers Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment This position primarily operates in a typical production environment that may or may not be climate controlled and may be exposed to areas that require use of personnel protective equipment This position will spend more than 95% of time on the production floor.
