Description:
We are looking for a Transfusion Support Officer to join our small Transfusion Practitioner Team to cover maternity leave until the 31st October 2025. Working 3 days (22.5 hours) a week 9am to 5.15pm.
The role is pivotal in supporting the three Transfusion Practitioners across the Trust, ensuring that staff are thoroughly trained and competency assessed for administering blood transfusions. The team is dedicated to performing audits, accurately documenting transfusions, investigating and reporting incidents, and handling a variety of other critical tasks.
The Support Office plays a crucial role in ensuring these responsibilities are met efficiently. This includes taking detailed notes and minutes during both formal and informal meetings, addressing transfusion-related queries via phone, and managing data to produce comprehensive reports for various areas of the Trust.
This position is essential for maintaining high standards of patient care and safety, making it a rewarding and impactful role within the healthcare team.

You must have excellent attention to detail and good communication skills.
Having excellent IT skills are essential to the role, experience in minute taking would be an advantage.

One of the days must be a Wednesday, but the other two days are negotiable. There is no remote working in this role and you will be working on site at Kings Mill Hospital in the Pathology department.
We will consider a fixed term contract or secondment
