Overview ABOUT THE POSITION VHB is seeking a part-time Transit Communications/Systems Designer to join our dynamic growing Transportation practice in the Northeast. This position provides an opportunity to work on complex transit & rail transportation communications and system infrastructure projects and play an important role in expanding and shaping the group. Responsibilities Assist in development of wired and wireless communication systems spanning several types of transit infrastructure projects (regional rail, subways, bridges, tunnels, multi-modal stations, yards, substations, and maintenance facilities) Assist in implementing communications and systems for fiber optic networks and information management Assist in designing, building, and maintenance of compound cellular and Wi-Fi networks Assist in planning, analysis, preliminary and final design document preparation for transit-focused system infrastructure projects Prepare plans, specifications, reports, and analyses to meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements Skills and Attributes Knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures in system infrastructure engineering Team oriented with strong capability to work independently Robust technical and critical thinking skills Detail oriented and quality focused Strong task management skills Qualifications 0-1 years of experience in transit communications/systems engineering Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field of study Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification preferred Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $92,000-95,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
