Job Description AHRC New York City is looking for a Transition Developer (TD) for their Adult Day Service programs throughout the Five boroughs. The TD will be responsible for the development of inclusive community activities for all people enrolled in the Adult Day Service program. The TD will also provide leadership and direction to all employees in the area of community inclusion opportunities and develop systematic instruction protocols to take place in simulated and community based environments. Under the supervision of the Director of Program Development the TD is responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of community based instructional programs designed to serve people with multiple disabilities. Salary: $55,000 per year...plus a very generous Benefit Package. See Benefit information below. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assists staff in identifying priority community skills for people served. Develops and manages goals and objectives for learning. Identifies community settings that constitute the people supported likely natural environment. Develops generic task analysis to fit the range variation that the people served may experience while learning in the community. Conducts environmental analysis to ensure that setting are age appropriate and provides normalizing experiences. Identifies and develops linkages with existing generic programs for the purpose of creating inclusive experiences for the people with disabilities. Designs and implements staff training programs in a specialty area. Identifies necessary program supports to assist in transition process. Trains staff in the utilization of curricula resources and in effective teaching strategies in order to assist participants in achieving valued outcomes. Follow-up and reevaluates community site evaluations. Other duties may be assigned Qualifications BA in education, special education, fine arts, movement or specialty field. One year experience working with people with developmental disabilities a plus. Experience with the planning, implementation and evaluation of community based instructional programs. New York or Tri-State driver's license for more than one year, in good standing.
