In collaboration with Dementia UK, Sheffield Teaching Hospitals are looking to recruit an exceptional registered nurse with a passion for, and experience of, providing relationship centred dementia care to join our team as an Admiral Nurse.
Admiral Nurses are specialist dementia nurses who work with and support people with dementia and their families. As one of two Band 7 Admiral Nurses, you will be based between the Northern General/Royal Hallamshire Hospitals and in the community; working within the acute inpatient setting, and post discharge follow up in care homes and home settings, to influence, deliver and coordinate relationship centred dementia care.
You will be employed by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals working under the direct management of one of the geriatric matrons, within the Combined, Community and Acute Care Group. You will receive ongoing support from Dementia UK to maintain and strengthen your clinical expertise as a specialist nurse within dementia care. You will also become part of the wider network of Admiral Nurses and will have the opportunity to access relevant post graduate courses and develop professionally, as informed by the Admiral Nurse Competency Framework.
We have 2 Fixed Term/Secondment posts available -
1x Full time post, 37.5 hours a week, 15 month contract
1x Part time post, 30 hours a week, 9 month contract
As an Admiral Nurse, you will deliver specialist one-to-one support, guidance and practical solutions for families, alongside supporting best practice and providing role modelling within Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. You will also influence and lead on the delivery of work streams that improve the experience of care for people living with dementia, and their families throughout their hospital stay and across care transitions.
