Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and fluent Translator (English/Spanish) to join our team at a custodial center. In this role, you’ll be essential in bridging language gaps and ensuring clear, accurate communication between staff and residents.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience as a Translator or in a similar role requiring advanced translation and interpretation skills between English and Spanish.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Clean criminal record and ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
  • Ability to pass a medical assessment and drug screening.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities
  • Provide verbal translation services for staff during interviews, medical appointments, and counseling sessions with residents.
  • Translate written documents, including forms, notices, and procedural information, from English into Spanish and vice versa.
  • Facilitate effective communication in a variety of settings, from individual conversations to group meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and impartiality in all translation and interpretation tasks.
  • Adhere to all facility rules, regulations, and safety protocols while working within the resident population.
  • Report any communication barriers or concerns to a supervisor.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support clear communication.
