Would you like to join the leading international intergovernmental organization? This position offers a unique opportunity to work on some of NATO’s most vital communications infrastructure, providing direct support to operational missions through engineering excellence, incident analysis, and proactive network management. Responsibilities: Provide Level 2 and 3 support for managed transmission infrastructure, including network management, system maintenance, and engineering for NGCS and DCIS components. Perform online network management encompassing fault, performance, configuration, and security management for services provisioned over TOM and IP/MPLS networks. Offer engineering assistance for networking, interconnections, and terminating equipment, including smart multiplexers, routers, switches, modems, and cryptographic devices. Support the operations, maintenance, and incident trend analysis of assigned transmission systems and their interfaces. Assist in the preparation of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), operational notices, configuration standards, and technical procedures. Provide technical support for the planning and implementation of system configuration changes and enhancements. Conduct technical reviews to ensure compliance with service requirements and contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation. Advise and assist remote sites in resolving complex transmission service incidents. Provide specialist advice and facilitate knowledge transfer to other staff members. Essential Qualifications & Experience: University degree in ICT System Engineering In-depth knowledge of Alcatel Lucent Service Routers, Service Access Router and Switches, as well as Cisco routing and switching equipment. General experience in the installation, testing, integration and programming and configuration of IP/MPLS routing, switched and TOM networks. Knowledge and experience of modern communications systems such as IP/MPLS, DWDM as well legacy and TOM technology. Valid/active Alcatel Lucent Network Routing Specialist II (NRS II) or higher (or equivalent demonstrable knowledge). Valid/active Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) routing and switching or higher certification (or equivalent demonstrable knowledge). Ability to effectively work and communicate in English Desirable qualifications: · Experience on specific NATO transmission networks, interfaces and encryption devices · Related field experience in operation, administration and maintenance of digital telecommunication and transmission systems. · DWOM and SOH technology knowledge and/or experience, particularly related to Alcatel Lucent optical family of products for OWOM and Sagem/Siemens SDH family of products · Related field experience and knowledge related to RAD Megaplex family of products and management tools · NETISONUS Promina experience and knowledge · Prior experience of working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements.
