JOB DESCRIPTION:

• 5 to 7 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor’s degree or professional engineer license.

JOB DUTIES:

• Responsible for applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct high- voltage transmission lines (HVTL).
• Supports estimate preparation, develops design options, and prepares construction specifications.
• Provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for approved contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages for outsourced line design jobs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Creating a safe work environment by putting safety first, understand the process used for HVTL planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in HVTL design, construction, and maintenance.
• Understanding transmission line design practices and work processes, using all software applications used in HVTL design, understanding NESC and Client design standards.
• Supporting design standard and criteria development for the system.
• Supporting construction and maintenance teams during day-to-day operations and during emergency restoration of failed equipment.
• Providing quality assurance reviews for PLS-CADD line models and job construction package, estimating material for transmission projects, transmitting construction packages and supporting specifications.
• Skillsets and expertise required for this position include advanced engineering knowledge.
• Problem- solving skills, significant discretion making independent decisions based on procedure.
• Proficient TLD software knowledge, strong work ethic, positive attitude, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff and/or vendors.
