Description
UPMC Presbyterian is looking to hire a Transplant Guardian Angel. This position will be responsible for helping our abdominal transplant patients navigate the Oakland campus for all related testing throughout the evaluation process. Schedule: Daylight hours Ideal candidate would be able to work close to full time hours Purpose: Under the general direction of the Director of Operations, UPMC Transplant Services and according to established standards and procedures, the Transplant Guardian Angel will assist staff with providing support to patients and family members during the pre-transplant admission process. Responsibilities: Assist patient and their family members with identification and facilitation of available lodging. Reinforce information provided by the transplant team to the patient and their family members. Obtain clinical data and enter the information into a clinical database under supervision of the Transplant Operational Staff. Assist with greeting patients and their families upon arrival to the hospital and with navigation to the facility. Serve as a communication link between the ptient, family members and transplant team regarding updates, actively listening to the family members and conveying questions/concerns to the transplant clinical team. Assist the transplant team in the preparation of educational packets. High School graduate or equivalent is required. 1-2 years of post-secondary education required.
