About the Role Responsibilities:  You will report to the Plant Manager and have a dotted-line relationship with corporate logistics leadership.  The North Las Vegas Nevada facility includes over 113,320 square feet.  You'll be responsible for all plant-level logistics operations including warehousing, shipping, and receiving operations.  The teams you'll oversee include 2 Traffic Associates and 9 fleet drivers. In addition to the routine responsibilities, this role will require you to communicate effectively with the Production and Purchasing Departments, as well as Inventory Planners, regarding inventory to ensure product is ordered or produced in time to service all outbound shipments.  You will improve customer service levels where appropriate, reduce overall transportation and distribution cost structures, and build key relationships with plant and corporate management teams.  In addition, you'll work with sister plants to identify and implement best practices, standardize SOPs and support regional teams.  About You * Strong background in distribution management across different customer channels and/or different distribution models. * Transportation exposure to truckload, vans, LTL and small package shipping.  * Budgeting accounting, cost management and planning skill sets. * Performance improvement program experience, team building and solid interpersonal abilities.  * Pricing, negotiation and contract experience.  * Team-leadership, planning and organizational skills.  * Lean Manufacturing experience.  * Proven commitment to performance metrlcs.  Requirements:  * A bachelor's degree or equivalent in operations management, logistics or other related fields. * Six to eight years of experience in logistics and inventory management, with at least five years in a managerial capacity.  * A strong background in distribution management across different customer channels and/or different distribution models.  * Transportation exposure to truckloads, LTL and small package shipping.  * Strong experience with warehouse management systems which includes managing system-generated cycle counts and personnel performance metrics.  * Proven skills in preparing and managing a budget.  * Pricing, negotiation and contract experience is a plus.  * Proven leadership skills, including the ability to build accountable teams and help your direct reports develop professionally.  * A hands-on approach to managing and leading. * Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse personalities.  * Excellent planning and organizational skills.   About Us Custom Building Products is a high-volume manufacturer of stone and tile installation and beautification products.
