Primary responsibility will be to monitor and assist the TM in all areas of Transport compliance (HGV). You will work closely with the operational teams and the Transport Manager (TM) to ensure the site functions legally, safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To Input levels of Transport compliance continually to ensure the team is operating in line with current legislation and Company policy .
  • To highlight and rectify any issues found with regards to Transport compliance and record written details of all issues found.
  • To notify any major issues found to the Transport Manager.
  • To work collaboratively with the Transport Manager to train staff to ensure they have sufficient knowledge to monitor and ensure compliance levels within the Company.
  • To support induction and refresher training courses on Transport related topics
  • To support the Transport Manager in dealing with aspects of Phone calls , emails and Business appointments
  • To support any project work as and when required.
  • A very basic knowledge of HGV’s are required as you will be working directly With the Transport Manager who will explain all work that is required and hopefully you will be learning daily.
  • Working in a fast paced, always changing environment. Transitioning from a paper based to a computer based system
  • Have a level of knowledge operating windows systems Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Analytical, data focused, highly organised and have exceptional attention to detail
  • A confident communicator and able to influence at levels through both verbal and written communications.
  • Decisive and effective decision-making, in a time pressured environment. Final decisions will always be made by the TM
  • Someone that really enjoys resolving problems and demonstrates high levels of resilience, self- motivation and flexibility.
  • High standard of computer literacy with a thorough knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • A full clean driving licence is essential
