Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for the day-to-day receipt of information received from the Transport Planner to enable the subsequent bookings of the delivery vehicles (trucks), to ensure that the customers order lines are fulfilled.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This is an important role within GRS, with primary responsibility to:

  • Accurately enter vehicle booking data into the internal and external booking systems.
  • Establish haulier needs.
  • Establish the times of deliveries, relating to site opening hours.
  • Determine the flexibility of deliveries to adhere to the relevant legislation, and any relevant restrictions that are in place.
  • Maintain regular contact the clients and hauliers throughout the day to advise of any potential issues with booking systems and driver apps.
  • Liaise with the external Transport Managers to secure the next day’s requirement relating to driver availability.
  • Liaise with internal Transport Managers regarding vehicle bookings / availability of haulage / booking system issues.
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and report these to your Line Manager.
  • Accurately create, maintain and update vehicle booking spreadsheets ready for the next day’s deliveries.
  • Responsibility for compliance and discharging legal duties with regards to HR and Health & Safety to promote a safe, equitable and legally compliant work place.
