Description

DESCRIPTION

At Quickslide, we’re not just manufacturing award-winning fenestration products — we’re shaping the future of how they’re made and delivered. We’ve re-imagined traditional processes and implemented cutting-edge digital systems that help us lead with efficiency, quality, and environmental care — and now, we’re looking for a Transport Manager to join us and play a key role in keeping things moving.
As our new Transport Manager, you’ll take the wheel of our transport operations — ensuring everything runs safely, smoothly, and cost-effectively from our site to our customers. This is a hands-on, strategic role where you’ll lead by example, manage a talented team, and make smart decisions that drive customer satisfaction and business success.
From route planning and compliance to team development and KPI ownership, you’ll be at the centre of it all — solving problems, spotting opportunities, and continuously raising the bar.

THE NECESSARY SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE INCLUDE:

  • CPC management qualification and a full UK driving licence
  • Proven experience in a similar transport/logistics leadership role
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and planning skills
  • Solid grasp of transport compliance and Health & Safety standards
  • Budget management and contract negotiation experience
  • A confident communicator with excellent people-management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Able to balance hands-on work with strategic thinking — and not afraid to get your hands dirty
Responsibilities
  • Oversee drivers, loaders, and transport operations to meet service and safety targets
  • Plan and allocate vehicle routes, ensuring flexibility for customer needs
  • Manage fleet maintenance and ensure full compliance with transport regulations
  • Take responsibility for budgets, fuel efficiency, and contract performance
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team — even those working remotely
  • Handle operational challenges with confidence and find innovative solutions
  • Keep a sharp eye on KPIs and contribute to business-wide reporting and planning
  • Support continuous improvement and ensure top-tier service delivery at every turn
