We are looking for a dedicated Transport Clerk to become a valuable part of our team at Basingstoke, located in Chineham Business Park (RG24 8YH). The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing timely, accurate, and relevant administrative and operational information related to contract activities. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in creating an outstanding service experience for both our customers and Yusen Logistics (UK) Ltd.
The salary for this position is £30,761.40 per annum, working Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate customer deliveries and liaise with drivers promptly and efficiently, ensuring that customer requests are achieved
  • Ensure that any issues with meeting expectations are communicated both within Yusen Logistics business and to the customer
  • Establish and maintain good customer relationships, acting as the key customer contact for order requests and processing
  • Ensuring that professional and effective communication is always maintained
  • Identify and recommend appropriate resolutions to customer queries or failures
  • Ensure any concerns, issues, or variances to instructions are immediately communicated to the line manager to allow appropriate action to be taken at the earliest opportunity
  • Continuously look to improve processes and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement in business operations and customer service
  • Ensure all health and safety procedures are adhered to, including PPE, and escalate any concerns to your line manager as soon as possible

Key Skills:

  • Previous experience of working in a similar role essential
  • The proven ability to interface with customers
  • Confidence in supervising Drivers essential
  • Good organisational skills and a detail-oriented approach
