Working for a large food manufacturer, we are looking for an organised and efficient transport coordinator to manage our team of multi-drop van drivers and be the face of our brand when delivering to customers.

ABOUT YOU

Are you a natural problem-solver with a solid driving background and a keen eye for logistics? We’re looking for a Transport Coordinator to support the smooth and safe operation of our growing transport division.
- Minimum 2 years’ driving experience** with Class 1 or 2 licence
- Must be over 25 years of age and have held a full UK/EU/EEA licence for at least 2 years (insurance requirement)
- Valid Driver CPC
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and stay calm under pressure
- Solid IT skills and comfortable with transport software and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
  • Scheduling vehicles and drivers to maintain a reliable, efficient customer service
  • Monitoring driver performance and ensuring full legal compliance, including WTD and transport regulations
  • Dispatching drivers based on load plans and driver hour availability
  • Coordinating vehicle movements and assigning drivers accordingly
  • Rapidly responding to day-to-day operational issues and adapting plans on the fly
  • Completing debriefs within set times and reporting required follow-up actions
  • Flagging safety concerns and maintaining adherence to company procedures
  • Liaising regularly with customers, drivers, and internal teams to coordinate workloads
  • Handling job bookings, space planning, and assisting the Transport Manager in daily duties
  • Administering near miss/safe act reports and managing VORs, defects, and callouts
  • Taking on ad hoc driving responsibilities as needed
  • Shifts to be discussed, working 5/7 including every second Saturday.
