VeiraMal Consulting is seeking an experienced Transport Company Manager to join our clients’ company in Kangaroo Flat. Our client, Stringers Dairy, is looking for an enthusiastic individual who can work well in a team, with strong communication skills.
The Transport Company Manager is responsible for organising, directing, and coordinating the daily operations of the transport business. This includes route planning, scheduling, fleet and driver management, compliance with transport regulations, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of services.

SKILL REQUIRED:

  • Relevant work experience in a transport or logistics management role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian transport regulations and compliance frameworks (e.g. NHVR, Chain of Responsibility, fatigue laws).
  • Excellent leadership, organisational, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in transport/logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Valid driver’s licence.
Responsibilities
  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and efficient use of transport fleet, associated equipment, and fuel inventories.
  • Liaise with clients to identify logistical requirements, provide expert advice on vehicle suitability, pricing (for rental or purchase), contract terms, and resolve service-related issues.
  • Manage incoming service bookings and reservations; develop and implement transport schedules and delivery timelines.
  • Establish and monitor procedures to ensure the security and condition of goods in storage and during transit.
  • Coordinate the timely pickup and delivery of vehicles and cargo, ensuring smooth logistics operations.
  • Maintain accurate business records and prepare operational performance reports, including financial summaries.
  • Supervise and manage the safe movement, loading, and unloading of freight, including rail consignments when applicable.
  • Ensure full compliance with workplace health and safety regulations, fatigue management laws, and national transport standards.
