Working as part of the London Transport Planning team, you will help to deliver exciting new developments, regeneration and masterplanning schemes across the UK, including many prestigious and high-profile projects.

Responsibilities

WHAT DOES THE ROLE INVOLVE?

  • Providing day to day technical input as part of the Project team.
  • Undertaking tasks assigned by the team leader/project managers to support design delivery and other project deliverables.
  • Liaising with our private sector clients and their design teams.
  • Ensuring that project delivery meets the client’s objectives and requirements.
  • Ensuring tasks are carried out and completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.
  • Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU’LL POSSESS:

  • A relevant degree, ideally from an engineering background.
  • Relevant experience working in Transport Planning and a good knowledge of the UK planning system.
  • A proactive nature, with a track record of working with private sector clients, delivering a range of projects.
  • An understanding of national planning policy, as well as London specific policy and guidance which governs development.
  • Excellent problem solving/contingency planning skills with the ability to find quick, innovative and practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to adapt your style to suit different audiences.
  • Experience of AutoCAD and Vehicle Tracking software.
  • A good understanding of relevant design standards and guidelines.
  • Experience of using industry standard software, such as TRICS. Experience of using junction capacity modelling software e.g. Junctions 10, would also be advantageous.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills including the ability to process and analyse data using Excel.
  • GIS software experience would be advantageous.
