Responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:

The Transport Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the movement of construction materials from suppliers or warehouses to various project sites. The role ensures timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery of materials while maintaining compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily transportation of materials to construction sites.
  • Liaise with suppliers, drivers, and site supervisors to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Prepare delivery schedules, trip sheets, and transport documentation.
  • Monitor fleet movement and track deliveries to avoid delays.
  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, licensed, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Manage loading and unloading operations to prevent damage to materials.
  • Optimize routes to reduce transportation costs and improve efficiency.
  • Handle site access permits, delivery passes, and other logistical requirements.
  • Maintain records of deliveries, vehicle usage, and transport costs.
  • Resolve delivery-related issues, such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, or site access challenges.
  • Coordinate with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure availability of required materials.
  • Implement and enforce safety standards for drivers and site deliveries.
