Romac Logistics are currently recruiting for a Transport Co-ordinator to join our busy team in Middleton, Manchester, working 4on 4off 06:00-18:00.
Romac Logistics is a privately owned rapidly growing business, with aspirations to become one of the largest in the UK. We provide logistics solutions nationwide in dedicated and shared sites. Operating in the industry now for over 3 years, we have grown to a fleet consisting of over 400 units and 200 trailers running out of 10 locations across the UK.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE;

  • High standard of IT Skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel,
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure,
  • Excellent communication, time management and organisational skills,
  • Strong problem-solving ability,
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a transport office – preferred but not essential.
Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

The successful applicant will be responsible for co-ordinating the transport office activities between the driving teams and to capture all information relating to their daily activities, then utilising this information to provide daily and weekly operational reports, as well as ensuring that all of our services are delivered to a high standard.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Brief all drivers on daily activities,
  • Ensure all drivers have correct licenses (including taking copies) and completing checks where necessary,
  • Ensure all other work declarations, RTWs, infringement sign offs etc. are carried out before the start of shift,
  • Ensure every driver has downloaded their digital tachograph card at the beginning and end of every shift,
  • Ensure compliance to tracking via management of the telemetry system,
  • Report all delivery issues to the Management Team, communicating through appropriate processes,
  • Ensure that any defects, accidents, or safety related issues are directed straight to the Transport Shift Manager prior to the driver leaving site or upon return to site,
  • Support Transport Shift Manager with investigation of accidents and incidents,
  • Prepare and distribute customer activity reports prepared using in house tracking systems and reporting functions,
  • Communicate and coordinate potential issues with internal departments helping to work to as a team to a solution beneficial to all parties involved,
  • Ensure that all defects are reported, recorded, and rectified following company procedures, completing all relevant documentation.
