Job Description We're on the hunt for a Transport Dispatcher to lead the efficient planning, scheduling, and coordination of transport activities for both full and empty containers across New Zealand. The role ensures optimal fleet utilisation, safe operations, and timely service delivery while maintaining strong customer communication and compliance with all legislative and company requirements. Here is some of what you will be doing: Planning and coordinating transport activities for both full and empty containers. Optimising fleet utilisation to achieve efficiency, service, and cost targets. Scheduling and allocating work, with the flexibility to adapt plans as situations change. Working closely with drivers, customers, depots, shipping lines, and ports to keep things moving smoothly. Supporting yard and transport operations, including safe loading/unloading when needed. Monitoring container hire periods, detention, and demurrage to reduce unnecessary costs. Maintaining accurate dispatch records and proactive communication with all stakeholders. Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements. Qualifications Here’s what you’ll bring to the table: A minimum of three years of experience in transport dispatch, logistics, or a related operational role. Strong planning, problem-solving, and multitasking skills. Excellent communication – you’ll be confident talking with drivers, customers, and internal teams. A focus on safety, compliance, and professionalism at all times. Flexibility to work rostered/on-call hours to support 24/7 operations. A positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to step into other operational areas when required. This is a full-time permanent role based in Auckland. You will have the right to live and work in New Zealand at the time of applying. The successful candidate may be subject to undergo a Police Check and/or Pre-Employment Drug Test.
