JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Transport and Logistics Manager to lead and optimize logistics and materials control functions within our manufacturing operation. This role is critical in ensuring the timely and cost-effective delivery of raw materials, components, and finished goods while maintaining seamless internal material flow and inventory accuracy. The successful candidate will play a key role in aligning logistics with production schedules, improving supply chain efficiency, and managing a high-performing logistics team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 5+ years of experience in transport and logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of materials control, production planning, and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and Just-In-Time (JIT) delivery models.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Proficient in logistics and ERP/MRP systems (ideally SAP).
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate inbound and outbound transportation of raw materials, components, and finished products.
  • Lead materials control operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of parts to production lines.
  • Collaborate closely with procurement to align logistics with manufacturing schedules.
  • Oversee inventory management, including stock accuracy, cycle counting, and material traceability.
  • Implement and maintain systems for tracking material movement and ensuring real-time visibility.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and transportation laws.
  • Manage third-party logistics providers and negotiate freight contracts to optimize cost and service.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for cost reduction or performance improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategies for logistics efficiency, including route optimization and lean material flow.
  • Maintain and improve ERP and MRP systems related to logistics and material planning.
