REQUIREMENTS / SKILLS:

  • Proven experience in transport/logistics management, ideally in healthcare or regulated goods.
  • Strong knowledge of UK road transport regulations and MHRA distribution standards.
  • Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Transport Management (preferred).
  • Excellent organisational and leadership skills to manage delivery teams across multiple sites.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to compliance and patient safety.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with pharmacists, regulators, and suppliers.

Responsibilities

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Transport Manager to join our friendly and professional team. This key role ensures the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of medicines and pharmacy supplies across our network of branches, supporting pharmacists and smooth day-to-day operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan and manage road transport of medicines and supplies to pharmacy branches, care homes, and patients.
  • Ensure compliance with UK transport regulations, MHRA requirements, and Good Distribution Practice (GDP).
  • Manage and maintain the pharmacy fleet, including scheduling, insurance, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Optimise delivery routes and schedules to ensure efficiency and timely service.
  • Investigate delivery issues, delays, or complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage budgets for transport operations and report performance to senior management
  • Maintain accurate delivery and compliance records for audits.
  • Liaise with pharmacists and branch managers to prioritise urgent deliveries.
