We are looking for a Transport Manager to join our team.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must hold a CPC Transport Managers’ License.
Must have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar position.
To take responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the Transport Department, planning routes and load scheduling for multi-drop deliveries;
To ensure the products are dispatched to their designated locations in the correct quantities and at the correct times subject to traffic and other unforeseen circumstances;
To efficiently manage the team of drivers and vehicles;
To ensure the Company is compliant with all Transport Policies, Legislation and Procedures in relation to tachograph etc;
To assist with the strategic development and transport strategy making of the company for congestion;
To act as the first point of contact for all drivers;
To ensure that all transport vehicles are properly maintained and serviced;
To arrange for the induction and training of all new drivers and their ongoing CPD Training;
To develop and nurture customer relationships;
Maintain accurate administrative records, in particular those required by VOSA;
To deliver a full debrief (tacho analysis) to all drivers;
To organise the examination of vehicles on a regular basis and ensure drivers undertake their own daily checks;
To identify operational issues, potential problems and opportunities for the Company;
To appraise staff performance and also to take disciplinary action when required;
To ensure all site and customer objectives are achieved;
To ensure compliance with all Health and Safety obligations of the Company;
To negotiate process, order fuel and Adblue;
To organise the maintenance of fuel and diesel pumps;
Monitor Company vehicle fleet including MOT and insurance;
To monitor and reconcile delivery notes from drivers and investigate, address and resolve any issues in co-operation with all departments.
To assist in any reasonable way to ensure the smooth running of the business at all times.
