Now, we’re looking for a Transport Manager to join our team in New Ross. This role will play a key part in the overall growth of the organisation along with helping to maintain our core ethos here at Sysco – keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do. Key Accountabilities: Managing/leading the transport management and distribution team Co-ordination of all Transport activities ensuring the smooth running of depot Responsible for efficient dispatch of all routes and products to customers on a daily basis Coaching and motivating members of the delivery team Effectively liaising with sales, transport, and operation departments to resolve all issues in a timely manner Working with our Sales teams to ensure effective and efficient delivery schedules Ensuring delivery procedures and policies are adhered to at all times, equipment breakdown and repairs are minimised and reported and ensure the premises are maintained to the highest standards Responsible for ensuring all company vehicles are properly maintained, cleaned and safely operated to reduce accidents and enhance the company brand Manage Backhaul collections and ensure they are adhered to on a daily basis. Managing Transport Compliance to industry leading standards Identify, coordinate and deliver training as appropriate Ensuring Security and Health & Safety Procedures are adhered to at all times Leading by example and applying company policy and procedures in a fair, consistent and unbiased manner Requirements: 3+ years’ experience in a relevant management / supervisory role in a high volume, technology driven, time sensitive multi-drop distribution operation Experience within the Food distribution industry is advantageous Must possess a full Drivers Licence, Management CPC advantageous Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word Proven ability to manage a team to deliver the highest standards of service Proven ability to be an effective decision maker with a hands-on approach to the business Ability to plan and organise your own and your teams work activities in a safe, efficient and effective manner Ability to analyse, interpret and explain and present relevant business data Fluent English – reading and writing High level of flexibility and problem solving Strong knowledge of the Department of Transport regulations (Tachograph legislation, Work Time Directive etc.) Strong knowledge of the surrounding geographical area Core Competencies · Understanding Your Customers – acts as a role model in personal approach to internal and external customer goals.
