POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Transport Manager to be based at our site in Belvedere this will require travel to Northfleet.
The role reporting into the Transport Manager will be to manage the outgoing and incoming loads, support operational staff to manage driver compliance, monitor completion of routes daily, manage KPI’s, support ad-hoc recruitment, regular audits of transport, manage driver holiday requests and make sure customers are serviced to our high standards.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 per year

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Transport Manager: 3 years (required)
  • Experience of managing a team within a fast-paced operation, ideally within a logistics environment.
  • Must display clear communication skills at all levels with clients, colleagues, and reports.
  • Must display a solid knowledge of all relevant driving legislation including tachograph policies, driving hours and the Road Traffic Act.
Responsibilities
  • Ensure all delivery & collection routes are properly set.
  • Maintaining on-going communication with drivers to resolve any issues.
  • Continuous Improvement - looking to develop current network efficiencies.
  • Ensuring adequate resources are available to guarantee any ad-hoc collections are picked up.
  • Ensuring that all relevant documentation and systems are completed accurately and in line with company and/or legislative requirements.
  • To lead a transport team in delivering excellent service, meeting all financial/budgetary KPI’s and contractual commitments.
  • Ensure that all shift activities are completed in line with all legislative/procedural guidelines.
  • Preparing and presenting KPI to our customers and board level.
