Description:

  • A degree.
  • Ability to problem-solve and be analytical: conducting and driving dive deep analysis on complex processes isn’t a problem for you.
  • Willingness to obtain a Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC). Amazon will fund the certification.
  • Willingness and ability to work to flexible schedules: you always commit the time required to get the job done.
  • Business proficiency in English and German.
    You will be the responsible and accountable leader for owning the transportation operation and associates in a number of regions within Germany. You will own all the operations, budgetary, people development targets for your functional areas, with the aim to optimize driver’s performance and linehaul load planning and efficiency through careful preparation and execution of the network. You will also lead the strategic part of the business for program growth and expansion.

Key job responsibilities

  • Act as the responsible and accountable person in respect of the Commercial road haulage permit.
  • Strategically lead a team of Transportation Managers and Associates for your region.
  • Install a performance culture in the team, instil ownership across the team, and overall, create a high-performing team.
  • Drive a proactive management of healthy, positive working relationships on a day-to-day basis with your team.
  • Own the operations of your region. Track and drive both the operational goals and metrics of your region, while regularly presenting your findings to the Senior Leadership team.
  • Prepare and run operations daily and weekly calls to communicate the performance of your region to Senior Leadership.
  • Support and commit to all safety programs and compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all associates and compliance operations.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives and Lean tools.
  • Work closely with stakeholders (People Experience & Technology, Finance, Relay Operations Center, WHS, Program Managers) and work closely with Transportation Operations Management (TOM) Regional Managers and Site Leadership to keep good relationship with our customers and support projects and initiatives in their sites.
  • Travel nationally to the hubs under your responsibility.

  • Project management experience.
  • Master’s Degree or similar education in Operations Research, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain, Economics, Business Administration, or a similar related discipline.
