JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to oversee our furniture distribution and installation operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in a fast moving logistics and customer service, with a focus on process improvement and team management. This role requires hands-on involvement and the effective use of IT systems. The Transport Operations Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring operational efficiency and maintaining high standards of safety, productivity and customer service. We are looking for someone who wants to progress with us as we grow with a view to eventually be fully responsible for all aspects of the operation.

EXPERIENCE

  • Proven experience in transport management and customer service is essential.
  • Proven experience in a client focused role.
  • Familiarity with materials handling techniques and heavy lifting practices.
  • Demonstrated ability in team management, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Previous experience with shipping & receiving processes is advantageous.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and operational standards.
  • Manage team performance, providing guidance, training, and support to achieve departmental goals.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Work closely with clients and the management team
  • Coordinate shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch of goods and accurate inventory management.
  • Maintain accurate records of clients orders and stock.
  • Collaborate with third-party logistics (3PL) providers to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles, equipment and facilities, addressing any mechanical issues promptly.
