Essential Requirements

• Experience: Proven transport planning background in a fast-paced haulage environment.
• Compliance: Strong knowledge of Driver Hours, routing, vehicle limits, and load safety.
• Practical Skills: FLT proficiency for loading/unloading; HGV shunting experience is highly advantageous.
• Systems: IT literate with excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Planning: Plan and track workloads for a mixed fleet of up to 20 HGVs/LGVs, maximizing efficiency and meeting customer timescales.
• Driver Management: Pre-brief and de-brief drivers, manage daily staffing levels, and ensure strict adherence to all legal regulations (e.g., tachographs, H&S).
• Yard Operations: Safely load and unload vehicles via FLT, provide yard shunting support, conduct warehouse scans, and maintain a tidy workspace.
• Admin & Service: Process customer bookings, update tracking tools, resolve freight discrepancies, and deliver a seamless handover to the evening shift.
