We are seeking an experienced and proactive Transport Planner to coordinate and optimise the delivery and collection of palletised goods across the NP postcode region. This is a fast-paced operational role within our dedicated Pallet Network, requiring strong planning, decision-making, and communication skills.
Collaborate directly with drivers, providing real-time direction and support to address daily operational changes or unexpected disruptions.Analyse and implement cost-effective transport strategies. Negotiate competitive rates with carriers while maintaining service quality.Use Transport Management Systems (TMS) and logistics software for planning, tracking, and reporting. Embrace digital tools to drive continuous improvement.Ensure operations comply with transport legislation, including drivers’ hours and tachograph requirements. Keep up to date with any regulatory changes impacting the pallet network.Quickly resolve transport-related issues. Develop and implement contingency plans to manage disruptions like vehicle breakdowns, delays, or route changes.Liaise with customers and network partners to ensure high service standards. Provide timely updates and solutions when service disruptions occur.Maintain accurate records of shipments, route plans, and carrier agreements. Ensure all paperwork meets legal and company standards.Requirements
Monitor fleet capacity, vehicle availability, and scheduling to ensure optimal resource utilisation.

Strong geographical understanding of the NP postcode area.
Able to analyse data, identify trends, and make informed operational decisions.Confident and clear communication with internal teams, drivers, and customers.Competent using Microsoft Office and transport management systems.Adaptable to early shifts and able to react to the dynamic needs of the operation.Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (occasional cover during holiday/sickness will be required).Working Conditions
