Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Transport Planner, you will be responsible for the effective daily planning and coordination of vehicle routes, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maximising operational efficiency. You will work closely with drivers, customers, and colleagues to deliver a first-class service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organise, and optimise routes for a fleet of 45 vehicles.
  • Allocate work to drivers, ensuring compliance with drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and warehouse staff.
  • Monitor vehicle progress, proactively resolving issues and delays.
  • Ensure transport operations are cost-efficient while maintaining service levels.
  • Liaise with customers regarding delivery schedules and requirements.
  • Support the Transport Manager with compliance, audits, and reporting.
