ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL NEED:

  • Senior management experience in a Transport / Distribution environment Extensive knowledge of Health and Safety and Transport legislation
  • Experience of dealing with full disciplinary procedures according to ACA guidelines
  • Experience of creating an effective culture of Continuous Improvements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE YOU CAN BRING:

  • A Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) for National qualification with extensive knowledge of current EU regulations.
  • Strategically minded, manages change with the ability to foresee potential issues
  • Effective stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Transport Shift Manager, your number one priority is to inspire and empower your team to create value for our customers and business. Your daya to day role responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a 24/7 transport operation that delivers to our branches and customers.
  • Ensuring full compliance with all regulations, including EU driving and working time directives, and health and food safety guidelines.
  • Managing and monitoring our vehicle maintenance program.
  • Controlling departmental resources, including Partners, agency staff, and equipment, to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Promoting a culture of continuous improvement across the department.
  • Managing the RDC (Regional Distribution Centre) when the General Manager and Transport Operations Manager are absent.
